Methodology
How a SoloStack guide is put together
Affiliate disclosure
SoloStack may earn a commission when you use a tracked link and buy. That is the business. You do not pay a higher price because the link is tracked. Some links on this site are placeholders: they explain that a merchant URL is missing, and they do not redirect. Official pricing links are labeled and are ordinary links to the vendor.
Commission rate is not a ranking input. A guide can mention a product we cannot affiliate, including ChatGPT Plus, when that product is the honest comparison.
What goes into a comparison
A draft guide answers four questions from public material:
- Who the vendor says the product is for.
- Where the published starting price sits against a solo budget.
- Which job it covers: drafting, on-page optimization, or email.
- What a freelancer still has to do by hand.
Published prices move. Figures in a draft are notes to check, and the guide says so. Plan names on this first set of articles are a snapshot for editors, and they are ready to be corrected against the live pricing page.
Drafts
A guide with draft: true in its front matter shows a Draft label, sends noindex, and stays out of the sitemap. That flag means the page is a framework, and a hands-on test has not been written up. When an editor has used the products and checked the prices, they set draft: false, update the date, and remove claims that the new draft cannot support.
SoloStack will describe a test only after it happens, with the period and the work named. A draft does not borrow a testing story.
Advertising
Three ad spots are wired: header, in-article, and sidebar. Until NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CLIENT is a real ca-pub- ID and a slot ID is numeric, the page shows a labeled placeholder in development, or nothing in production. Set NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_SHOW_PLACEHOLDERS=true to preview the boxes on a production build. SoloStack does not ship a sample publisher ID.
Advice we leave to other people
These pages are software buying guides. They are not financial, legal, tax, or medical advice. Earnings, rankings, and client results depend on the work, the niche, and the offer. A tool recommendation here is a workflow suggestion.
Corrections
Pricing and feature claims should be updated in the markdown file under content/guides, with updated set to the day of the edit. There is no public contact form in this first version. Add one when you have an address you actually read.
